Pages
House of Representatives
February 19, 2010
Sophomore students, Katie Long and Rodney Dimick, went to the capitol on Thursday, February 18 to be pages for Representative Peggy Mast. The House session started at 9:30. They ran errands for several representatives, and learned many political things while watching the session. The students even got to watch a filibuster that took place for 30 - 45 minutes.
During lunch period Katie, Rodney, and three other students were treated with pizza from Mrs. Mast. Here they asked questions and discussed the House's duties, bills, amendments and other legislative topics.
All pages were done by 3:00, but the House was still in session for the rest of the afternoon.
This event was very educational, and is suggested to all who has not attended.
A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Lowman and Rep. Peggy Mast!
