Class Offerings

BUSINESS

ACCOUNTING - Year (One Unit of Credit) Full year must be completed.

Provides skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for individuals to conduct personal business or pursue a career in accounting.

Grade Level: 9 -12 Prerequisite: None


ENTREPRENEURESHIP/INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS - Year (One Unit of Credit)

Students interested will explore personal characteristics and resources needed to operate a small business profitably. The class will be exposed to planning, organizing, financing, starting, operating and managing a small business. A business plan will be written. Emphasis will be placed on investigating and preparing for international opportunities. Customs, international law, international trade and financial situations are studied.

Grade Level: 9-12 Prerequisite: Keyboarding/Computer Literacy

COMPUTER LITERACY

Students will learn to use today's technology for tasks at school and in their personal lives. They will learn to adapt to change and understand the importance of technology as it evolves throughout their lives. Activities will include, but not limited, to keyboarding, communication and software skills.

Grade Level: 8 Prerequisite: None

STUDENT TEACHER AIDE Full year must be completed.

Students complete an application with a recommendation by the business instructor, one office staff worker and one high school teacher. A 2.5 cumulative GPA is required and must be maintained throughout the course. They must not have excessive absences and be eligible for extracurricular activities. A student will be allowed to enroll in the class only one hour a day.

STUDENT OFFICE AIDE Full year must be completed.

KEYBOARDING - Year One Unit of Credit

Students attending Hamilton High School and not having completed successfully a keyboarding class, will demonstrate appropriate keyboarding techniques, create documents, and use proper printing procedures while using the computer.
